Dear Stefie,
I am knitting a baby sweater and have reached a part in the directions where I am forming the button wholes. I am not familiar with the term "yo". I have knit two together, and the next instruction is "yo" then knit 8. What does this mean??
Thank you
Brynne

Dear Brynne,
In knitting terms, yo means yarn over. Take the yarn to the front of the needle and just bring it over to the back, into knitting position, again. What you are doing is neatly adding a loop around the needle to replace the stitch you just eliminated by knitting 2 together.
I hope this helped!

Hi
I'm in the middle of knitting a Biddy Baby outfit and came across, in the directions: 2 rows EOS in color chart #2. What is "EOS" I've stopped at this point so I will await your answer.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Charlotte,
Your pattern should have a list of abbreviations. I would presume it means "every other side". As each set of directions is a bit different, I can't say for sure. Read the whole pattern. I'm sure they tell you what they want you to do.
Good luck,

Hi
I crochet and know how to start a new strand of yarn, but how do you do that in knitting? Same way, like I do, is to start a new stitch and when I would pull through as to make a single or even a double crochet, pull the new yarn piece through. Not quite sure how that can work with knitting.
Thanks.

Hi Joy,
In knitting, you can take the second strand, along with the first, and knit a few stitches with both. Or, you can leave a tail of the old one and a tail of the new one, start knitting with the new one, and just weave in the tails when you are done. (That's what I do). It is best to arrange it so you end and begin a new yarn on the edge. This way, the tails get woven into the seam.
I hope this helped.

I want to know how to use circular needles to knit in the round.I keep automatically correcting and end up knitting flat.
Thanks!

Hi Audry,
When you come to the end of your stitches, place a marker, and just keep going in a circle. You do the same thing with 3 double point needles, for a mitten or sock, say. After a few rows, it becomes a firm, circular piece, and the marker tells you where the row begins.
I hope this helped.
