Retired 12/31/98

I designed this one by special request for Deanna Johnson. Cristen Pond saw it and wanted one with a yellower background. As a result, this lollie came two ways–with a white background, and a taffy cream background. I didn't have many requests for the taffy cream, so they are very rare! The flower was inspired by a seed packet. As for the sides, remember that embroidered ribbon that was so popular back in the late 60's, early 70's? Jay's grandma, who isn't much for throwing things away, cleaned out her sewing room and sent a lot of ribbons my way... <g>!

The California Poppy was the third spindle design, and was retired on December 31, 1998. They were numbered up to 97.
