Retired 1/1/01

I've been wanting to paint this flower on a Lollie for a long time - but I didn't have a big enough canvas to do it justice. Here it is!

Hydrangea - a big, lush flower that reminds me of sitting on the front porch to cool off on a summer's evening, antique lace, spindly mahogany tables, doilies - the last turn of the century. Hmm, maybe that's why I wanted to paint it for this one, to remind us from where we came. As spinners, I think we are aware of that more than most people!

A huge, purplish-blue flower with leaves, painted on a background of light grey that's washed over with sterling blue. The edges of the whorl are more deeply stained.

This All-Day Lollipop is 11 inches in length and has a 4¾ inch diameter whorl. It weighs about 1.7 oz.

I will have a side view coming as soon as I get some pictures taken and developed.

Surprise!
