Retired 12/31/98 I love red, and I love poppies. I guess that is why this was one of the first Lollipops! It was the second design for a spindle, actually. I was looking at a book about quilts and an appliqued one caught my eye. It was turkey red and green and I loved it. So, this Lollie was inspired by that quilt. I wish I could remember the name of the quilt! BTW, all the wallpaper and all the background images on this site are from my worksheets for designing spindles and I left this wallpaper in it's original form. The yellow paint says "Red Poppies Feb. 1, 1997". There were 113 Red Poppies numbered when it was retired on December 31, 1998.
